Faux Pressed Flowers Challenge

Welcome to the June 2012 Technique Tuesday challenge!!!  Thank you to everyone who played along last month--stay tuned to see the Top Winner and Showcased cards on the 15th!  Now, let's proceed to this month's tutorial!  The technique this month is

June's Top Winner will receive 3 digital sentiments made by yours truly, and each stamper who's card is showcased will receive 1 digital sentiment made by yours truly! ;)  Here's the best part--THE WINNERS get to choose what they want their sentiment to say and what style!  If this doesn't sound like something you'd like, you could choose from some sentiments that I already have made. :)

This is how it will work--please email me within 5 days with the sentiment(s) that you would like and choose from the following styles: classic (ie Times New Roman type font), elegant (ie cursive font), whimsical (ie swirly/kid type font), or fun (handwriting font).  More information will be mentioned when the winners are announced!

Faux Pressed Flowers

Materials Needed

Paper flower(s)--FLAT ones
Paper leaves (optional)
Dry embossing folder
Dry embossing machine/die cut machine
Glue stick
Smallish piece of cardstock (mine is 3"x4")
Desired embellishments

"How To"

1. This is an optional step--glue your paper leaves around your piece of  cardstock to create a leafy border for your flowers.

2. Glue your paper flowers as desired on top of the leafy cardstock--use a glue stick to do this so that when you dry emboss, the glue will mash in and adhere the flowers really well.

3. Place your panel into a dry embossing folder and run through your machine.  I did this 3 times in order to get really good detail.  A smaller/close together dry embossing pattern is the best choice for this step.

4. Add embellishments to your flowers to create a garden scene.

5. Add to your card.

So, how are YOU going to use this technique?  I can't wait to see all the fabulous creations you all come with!  If you'd like to see more details of my card, please visit my personal blog, On a Stampage.  Happy crafting, friends!
