Mid Month Motivation: Water Stamping

***A public apology to Katy--I (Mynnette) thought I had scheduled this post before I left for the weekend last Friday and just realized today that I had not.  Katy, please forgive me!!!***

Hello Everybody!

To our friends in the U.S.--Happy Tax Day! :)  Hopefully you got a refund so you can buy some more crafty goodies!  If not-enter our challenge-you could be the winner of a 6X6 paper pad, a Distress Ink, and a new stamp.  And we invite our International friends to play too!

This month's technique is Water Stamping.  You can find the instructions and the DT's creations here.  The cool thing about this card is that I CASED one of the entries.  I chose Sarah Stone's card to CASE-Yay Sarah be sure to get your badge!

I really liked the sketch that Sarah used and her soft pretty colors.  I used the Water Stamping Technique in the middle panel like Sarah did.  From this picture you can see 2 flowers really well, but there was supposed to be another flower on top but it didn't come out.  I used Tim Holtz's Distress Stain for the middle panel but in order to get a good impression I think the stain still needs to be a little wet.  Thank you Sarah for the great inspiration! :)

There's still time to play-so I hope you link soon.  I can't wait to see what you create!
Big Hugs!
Katy
*The original sketch that Sarah used came from Sweet Sketch Wednesday which she noted on her blog post.

Meet Rushanne aka Rocky!

Hello everyone, my name is Rushanne but I'm known in blogland as Rocky.   To say I'm excited to be joining the Technique Time Tuesday Crew would be an understatement.

I live in Norfolk, U.K. with my husband, son and cat. I've always been a crafter thanks to my Mum's encouragement, we've tried many different crafts but paper craft has me hooked. I love to try new ideas and find challenges a great way of stretching my crafting and passing on my discoveries.

I work part time in the craft department of a large toy and model shop here in Norfolk as well as teaching at workshops and retreats in the area. What started as a hobby has become a big part of my life and I love it!

I am honoured to become a crew member and I'm looking forward to all those great challenges as well as working with a lovely group of talented crafters.

Meet Louise!

Hello Everyone,Louise here. I am so chuffed to be asked to join the crew at the amazing Technique Time Tuesday!

I always feel a bit like the new kid on the block as I haven't been crafting all my life as so many of you  wonderful crafters out there, just for about three years.  Oh, I've always been a knitter and have loved cutting and sticking since I was a child but it's only recently that crafting has become my main hobby.

I live in a very quiet village, in the rolling countryside of Herefordshire and look out from my crafting table across the fields to the Malvern Hills. I have been married to Tom for 24 years - we met at University, whilst giving blood(!) and we have three children, my eldest is at university, and the other two are catching up fast! All my children are competitive swimmers and I'm an official and very active member of the club and County so swimming takes up a big part of our lives.

We LOVE animals and have 2 horses, 3 cats, a rabbit, a guinea pig and 7 little quails. They never fail to bring us pleasure. In my 'spare' time I like to read, love going to the cinema and we all love to travel, so our family holidays are real highlights.

I work in a secondary school as an Assistant Special Educational Needs coordinator and I'm one of those unusual people who think that teenagers are absolutely great...frustrating yes, but funny too!

I am so looking forward to being part of such a creative team and to trying out all those fabulous techniques.I have joined in with as many as possible so far but now there will be no excuse!

Meet Karen H.!

Hello everyone, my name is Karen, and I am Simply Frenzied about papercrafting, sharing and inspiring others with my creations. I am very excited to be a part of the Technique Time Tuesday Crew, and I can't wait to get started.

I have been crafting ever since I was able to hold a crayon in my hand and cut with scissors.  I absolutely love digi images and coloring them with my Copics, I find this to be very soothing; it takes me to my happy place.

I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Washington. I currently live in the city of Tukwila with my hubby, Kurt. We have been married for over 30 years and have two handsome sons, Kyle 27 and Kory 24. I am an Elementary School Office Manager by day, who can't wait to get home from work to play with paper, ink, glitter and ribbon.

Besides having a passion for papercrafting, I also enjoy baking, red wine, dark chocolate, laughing and cracking myself up! Basically, I just want to have fun, live in the moment and enjoy life!

April's Top Winner will receive
A FABULOUS PRIZE PACKAGE
offered by our hostess, Katy!!!

Here's what you could win~

Each stamper who's card is showcased
will receive 1 digital sentiment made by yours truly! ;)

Here's the digi sentiment you could win~

With all that taken care of, let's get to it! We've got another fabulous challenge for you this month at Technique Time Tuesday--it's called WATER STAMPING!!!  We cannot wait to see what amazing creations you create with this tutorial!

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CREATION USES OUR TUTORIAL OR YOUR ENTRY WILL BE DELETED.  If you need to review the rules, please consult the tab up top!  Now let's get started!

Water Stamping Technique
Materials Needed
Not all materials used to complete card pictured.
*White cardstock
*Blending tool or sponges
*Desired inks
*Bold background or solid image stamps
*Paper towel
*Water
*Plate/lid/anything to keep your water pad on

***************************************

"How To"
 1. Ink up your paper using either a sponge or blending tool.  I just recently purchased a blending tool and I can tell you that it is definitely a fabulous investment!  Make sure to start with the lightest color first and then work your way up to the darkest.

2. Create your water ink pad by placing your paper towel into some sort of container and adding water.  Get it soaked, but not dripping.  You don't want water splashing when you wet your stamp, but there needs to be quite a bit of water for this to work.  Stamp your image onto the colored panel.  The image will become more defined as the water dries.

3. If you want to try a little variation, add some glimmer mist into your water and stamp with that, too.  It creates a really nice shine!

4. You've got your completed panel.

5. Add it to your project.
More info on my personal blog HERE.
